The part of the season nobody looks forward to
Putting lights up is festive. Taking them down in January — often on a cold, gray weekend, often on a roof that’s damp or icy — is not. It’s also where a lot of damage happens: clips yanked off shingles, gutters bent, wires tangled into a ball that has to be sorted out next November.
Takedown is included with every install we do, and we handle the end of the season with the same care as the beginning. Storage is there if you want it.
Careful takedown
We schedule takedowns in January, starting right after New Year’s. Many master-planned communities in North Texas have HOA guidelines on how long holiday décor can stay up — if yours does, tell us the date and we’ll plan around it.
On takedown day, our crew removes every clip by hand rather than pulling runs off the roof. We check for burnt-out bulbs and damaged sockets as we go, so problems get fixed now rather than discovered next November. Nothing is left behind in your gutters.
Labeled and packed for your home
Because every run we install is cut to fit a specific section of your roofline, we label it that way: “front gable left,” “garage eave,” “upstairs window 2.” Runs are coiled, not wadded, and packed in bins labeled for your home. When we reinstall next year, each piece goes back exactly where it came from — which is faster for us and means your display looks consistent from year to year.
Off-season storage
If you’d rather not give up garage or attic space to bins of lights, we’ll store them for you until next season. Storage is an optional add-on. It pairs naturally with the takedown that’s already included: we pack, label, and take everything with us in January, then bring it back ready to install in the fall.
Pricing
January takedown is included in the $4–$6 per linear foot base price for every roofline and window install we do — there’s nothing extra to add. Off-season storage is optional and priced at your consultation based on the size of your display.
